Tariff & Terms
Join us at the Western Isles Hotel for a memorable stay. Enjoy the stunning views over Tobermory harbour and the bay out to Aros Park and Calve Island. Each room has its own individual style, but we’ve priced them according to the view, with our Master Seaview rooms having views that really will take your breath away.
All prices are per room, per night and include bed and breakfast and all taxes. You can book dinner, bed and breakfast and enjoy our wonderful table d’hôte menu for just £23 per person per night. This special price only applies if you pre-book.
This is the tariff for 2012. As you'll see, the longer you stay the better the price! Up until 27 April and after 1 September, the prices include our 'stay for 3 nights and pay for 2' offer; and during the Summer, if you stay for 5 nights or more you also pay less. All prices are in UK sterling.
Please note there may be exclusion dates when there are no reductions for longer stay guests and only the 1 night price applies. These include the last weekend in April and the last week in June.
Inland View: These smaller rooms are comfortably furnished and look north over the outskirts of Tobermory.
Harbour View: On the Western side of the hotel, enjoy delightful views of the harbour and the town
Sea View: Wonderful views looking south across the bay to the Sound of Mull
Master Sea View: Large rooms with a sitting area and lovely windows looking across the bay. Simply stunning.
Single rooms. All our rooms are either doubles or twins, so the single occupancy price is the price we charge for one person staying in one of these rooms
Children are very welcome andwe charge £15 per night for each child under 12 years old sleeping on a z-bed and £20 for children over 12. This price includes breakfast.
There is no charge for cots.
We do have Glenturret, a room ideally suited for families as well as interconnecting rooms so do ask us for more details
Z-beds are only suitable for children under 14
Dogs well behaved dogs are very welcome and are charged just £5 per dog per night. In the unlikely event of any soilage or damage, then owners will be held responsible for the cost of cleaning or making good.
Smoking is not permitted in any of the bedrooms or public rooms in the hotel. This is Scottish Law. If guests do smoke in their rooms, then they will be charged £100 per night to cover the cost of extra cleaning and the fact that we will be unable to sell the room the following night.
Music Festival is a very lively weekend in Tobermory, and so we require full payment in advance for all bookings this weekend. The minimum stay is 3 nights, no matter which day a guest arrives. If you have to cancel then the charges vary depending when this happens: before the 1st March and we will refund the full amount paid, minus a £30 admin fee. After the 1st March then the full amount is forfeited unless we are able to sell the room for the full 3 nights. An admin fee of £30 also applies in this case.
Insurance We strongly recommend you take out insurance to cover the lost cost to you in the event you have to cancel.
Weddings and House parties can be great fun. The Western Isles Hotel has 26 rooms and is available for hire completely, whether for a wedding, family celebration or just a get together. To enjoy exclusive use of the hotel, prices for bed and breakfast range from around £3000 to £3500 per night. Please note that while we welcome families of all sizes and children of all ages, we do require at least one adult to take responsibility for the children’s behaviour throughout the stay.
We have a civil wedding license, so you can arrange for your ceremony to be either in the lounge, the dining room or even on the terrace.
Check in is from 3.00 pm until 10.00 pm. If you are likely to arrive later than this, please let us know in advance.
Check out is before 11.00 am.
Securing your booking by telephone We take credit card details to secure your booking. The card will only be charged if you cancel your room within 48 hours of your planned arrival date when you will be charged the first nights stay.
Deposits are required for on-line bookings and special events such as Music Festival weekend, Christmas and Hogmanay. These are non-returnable and payable on booking.
