Mull Ferry travel guide

There are 3 ferry routes to Mull. The most popular route is from Oban, which drops you at Craignure, a village located 21 miles from Tobermory. Vehicle reservations are strongly recommended on this route. From Craignure there is a bus which travels regularly to Tobermory.

You can also get the Lochaline to Fishnish route, this route is a “Turn up and Go” service. Simply turn up at the port, wait in line for the next available sailing and buy a ticket on board. A bus is also available from Fishnish terminal to Tobermory.

Thirdly, we have the Kilchoan route direct to Tobermory. This is another “Turn up and Go” ferry and so no reservation is required. This ferry brings you right into the main street in Tobermory, less than 300ft away from the hotel.

Please note ferry timetables are only published a few months ahead of sailing. Any ferry disruptions will be published by Calmac. For any service updates go to their website, sign up to text updates, download their app or follow them on Twitter @CalMac_Updates.

To put you mind at ease throughout the winter months, we are offering a flexi ferry cancellation term. From 1 October 2023 to 31 March 2024, if your ferry journey is cancelled, you can use your deposit to rebook your stay which will be valid for up to 1 year.
