‘Washed up’ will be in partnership with the Mull Highland Games once again!

The Mull Highland Games Art Prize has come back to sponsor our gallery (the one they started) for a new year.
Prize categories will be ‘Two Dimensional’ and ‘Three Dimensional’.

The artists receiving the prizes will be selected during the week of the Mull Highland Games (17th – 21st July) by an independent judge and will each receive a memorial quaich from the Mull Highland Games.

Up to five of the two dimensional artworks entered for the Mull Highland Games Art Prize will also be selected by the judge for submission to the Highland Art Prize – you can see more details about this here: https://highlandartprize.org.uk/.  This year’s Highland Art Prize will be held in Oban during the Mòd in October.  All works entered should have been completed in the last year.  There is no entry fee or hanging fee for either exhibition and it will be up to you whether you want to sell in either exhibition.  The work can be on any subject and in any medium although neither photographic work nor three-dimensional work will be eligible for the Highland Art Prize.

Please fill in a form if you would like your work in the next exhibition!

Please read the

What is the

The Western Isles Hotel’s Open Art Gallery was started as a way to give back to the local community.

The Isle of Mull and Iona is full of fantastic artists who, we felt, were in need of a new space to showcase their passion. As a hotel, we didn’t know how to get into it until the Mull Highland Games got in touch in 2023 to organise an exhibition of the local artists.

Since then, we have been hosting new exhibitions every 3 months. We are grateful for the continued support from the artists themselves, and our guests who have continued to buy their artwork.

If you are an artist from Mull or Iona and would like to get involved, don’t hesitate to fill out our form
